This was another spontaneous shoot, taken on the same day as the Cactus Blossom Gypsy mini shoot. Stephen knew I was in love with these little purple flowers that bloom in the spring, and had been on the lookout for a patch big enough to take some nice photos in.
We came across this wild field of the flowers a few cities over while on our drive to nowhere in particular. As a passenger during the long drive, I was most likely mindlessly enthralled on my phone, meaning Stephen saw the spot before I did. He pulled over, put the car in park, and said “Get out”. No other context. I was a little confused at first until I saw why he parked here. When I saw the MASSIVE field of the flowers, I was so happy!
While we didn’t get a ton of photos, this is one of my favourite shoots of all time. Two “stand alone” pieces were also born from this shoot: my first shot blowing the fluff off a dandelion (of which we only got one good shot, and that one shot took way too many tries to get right!), and one particular image that I edited with a purple color pallet, as a stand alone piece called “Purple Dreams”.
